March 2014 Students of the Month
Description of the award: Awarded to a WTHS student who has shown tremendous academic achievement in the classroom.
Who can be nominated: Any WTHS student, grades 9-12. (1 winner from each grade per month – 4 total)
How the award winner is chosen: Each month, WTHS will honor a student from each grade level for their tremendous academic achievement in the classroom. Selections will rotate among the school’s various departments from month to month. Only 32 students earn "Student of the Month" accolades each school year, with four individuals honored each month from October through May . A student may be selected for this prestigious honor only once in his/her career at WTHS.

Description of the award: Awarded to WTHS student who has shown tremendous work ethic, improvement, creativity, character, community service or achievement at WTHS or in the community.
Who can be nominated: Any WTHS student, grades 9-12. (1 winners per grade = 4 total)
How the award winner is chosen: Students and/or faculty members nominate students for the award. One award winner will be chosen from each grade level (Total of 4). In order to be placed in consideration, an explanation of why the nominee is deserving of the award is required. A student cannot win the award more than once per year.

"I wanted to recognize Chris for his outstanding work in Global Studies. Chris was an active member of the football and wrestling team here at Tennent, but this winter he faced a life threatening health issue. Description of the award: Awarded to a staff member who has made a positive impact on students or faculty or has made a positive contribution to the community.
Who can be nominated?: A teacher, administrator, coach, or member of the WTHS staff.
How the award winner is chosen: Students nominate staff for the award. In order to be placed in consideration, an explanation of why the nominee is deserving of the award is required. A staff member cannot win the award more than once per year.

"Mrs. King’s blackboard titled “Mrs. King’s Happy Place” pushes students to create their best photographs in order to be placed on the board for all of the classes to see. Whether it is helping students understand how to hold a camera to using Photoshop in the computer lab, Mrs. King is always willing to help every student." - Mrs. King's Photo 1 Class
